The Opportunity: Saguaro Roads Records hired LTC to design the CD packaging for Patty Loveless's Appalachian-inspired "Mountain Soul II," the  follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2001 release, "Mountain Soul." Saguaro also retained LTC to create the corresponding print and online ad campaigns to announce the launch of the album, which features contributions from an all-star lineup, including Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Al Perkins, and Del and Ronnie McCoury.

The LTC Approach: We wanted to create CD packaging for "Mountain Soul II" that would reflect the unique sound of the album (a combination of Appalachian, bluegrass and country) and avoid a slick, more commercial look. We were partnered with Joseph Anthony Baker, a photographer who focuses on telling the story of an artist through his images, and created cover art showing Patty in a rustic setting, surrounded by her amp and a few instruments. The rich browns and blues convey the authentic, moody nature of these songs while reflecting Patty's honest talent and love for the acoustic sound of mountain music.

The Results: Like its predecessor, "Mountain Soul II" was critically acclaimed. We won't take credit for that – the music speaks for itself – but we were happy to be part of such a landmark project for one of country music's living legends.
